Ricercar
This manuscript which was discovered by organ musicologists around the 1930s contains many beloved organ works including the Toccata in D Minor by Dietrich Buxtehude (BuxWV 155), and among pieces by composers including Nicolaus Strungk, Peter Heidorn, Martin Radeck, Johann Adam Krieger, Johannes Kuhnau, and one only known as "B", it also contains two anonymous ricercars. One has been found to have been composed by Johann Jacob Froberger; the other remains unaccounted for. This anonymous ricercar was copied two times in different places in the manuscript, both times in the same corrupted form that is performed here.
