On Sunday September 26 at 2:00 PM EDT I will preform a recital at First Congregational Church, Westfield NJ, playing the Austin Organs opus 2547, installed in 1972.
The program will begin with Baroque works by Dietrich Buxtehude and Johann Sebastian Bach, and then transition into modern works, including the premier of my composition "Ave Maris Stella", which was inspired by the Bach chorale-prelude "An Wasserflüssen Babylon", BWV 653b.
The variety of music in the program is intended to demonstrate the church's organ's wide tonal range, which is surprising considering it's size, 31 ranks and 2 manuals.
Incidentally, September 26 is my final sunday of the summer at FCC Westfield, as I am returning to Oberlin Conservatory on October 1st...although I intend to return as soon as I return home in the winter.
