Today I recorded my portion of the Oberlin Organ Department's Orgelbüchlein presentation. It was preformed at Peace Community Church, on the Bozeman-Gibson opus 24 (1984) Silbermann replica, with Professor Jonathan Moyer recording and Mr. David Kazimir tuning and repairing issues with the organ as they popped up...such as one note on the Hinterwerk that would stick when the manual shove coupler was engaged!

I was assigned the following four chorale preludes, and their corresponding 4-part chorale arrangements from the collection of 371 chorales by Bach: Erschienen ist der herrliche Tag (BWV 629) / Heut triumphieret Gottes Sohn (630) / Komm, Gott Schöpfer, Heiliger Geist (631) / Herr Jesu Christ, dich zu uns wend (632).

Out of the four chorale arrangements, three of them were not in the same key! This issue required me to write the arrangement in the new key. Writing the arrangement on the computer and transposing and subsequently printing out these transpositions would have been more challenging, so I wrote it by hand.

The presentation, of which I am only a small part (indeed, all current organ department students are contributing), is planned to be released in the summer during the Oberlin Organ Academy.
